Course Overview
Emotional Intelligence is the ability to understand your emotions, and the impact it has on you, in terms of behaviours. It is also about understanding the emotional situation of others and how it impacts their social behaviours. The difference between a successful individual, manager and leader, is seen as the ability to understand your emotional intelligence, and how this competence is harnessed in day to day situations. This Workshop is designed to identify your emotional intelligence competencies and learn to develop skills to improve an individual’s effectiveness

• Identify the core competencies of Emotional Intelligence (EI)
• Assess your EI profile and create an action plan for focus
• Gain insights into the four emotional competencies: self-awareness; self-management; social awareness; relationship management

Introduction to Emotional Intelligence
• Moving away from traditional intelligence tests to Gardner’s multiple intelligences
• Identifying the behaviours of effective individuals and qualifying the link with EI
• The link between emotional intelligence and emotional competencies
• Assessing your EI profile and identifying areas of focus and action plans
• Setting the context for authentic leadership
Developing Your Self-Awareness
• Knowing yourself and how you behave in range of situations
• Developing a sense of self-confidence to know your self-worth and capabilities
• Seeking feedback to develop self-awareness
Self-Management
• Making the right choices by focusing on how we think, feel and act
• Management not control
• Flexing in different situations, people and opportunities
• Addressing your self-talk, that can impacts choices
Social Awareness
• Developing the comfort of working with others by understanding their needs
• Seeking to develop and enhance the skill of empathy
• Enabling your organizational understanding and proactively networking
• Developing a trust enabled environment, through: Selflessness; Predictability; Authenticity; Relatedness and Know-how
Relationship Management
• Assessing the impact that others have on you, prior to building and maintaining a relationship
