AI: From Prompts to Processes: Building AI-Powered Workflows in MS365 Copilot
1. Welcome and Framing
• Introductions and objectives
• Quick recap of what they already know (email summarisation, document drafting, data insights)
• What’s next: using Copilot to connect tasks, save time, and create repeatable processes
2. Understanding AI-Powered Workflows
• What we mean by a “workflow” in Microsoft 365
• Common workflow opportunities for roles like HR, Finance, and Operations
o HR: onboarding checklists, summarising candidate feedback, creating performance review summaries

• Demo: how multiple Copilot interactions can be chained across Word → Excel → Teams → Outlook
3. Hands-On Exercise: Building a Mini-Workflow
Goal: automate a small cross-app process using standard Copilot features.
Examples (choose one scenario per group):
• HR scenario: Create a new-starter welcome pack
o Use Word Copilot to draft a welcome letter
o Use Excel Copilot to summarise payroll or holiday data
o Use Outlook Copilot to draft a communication to the hiring manager

o Use Excel Copilot for insights
o Use PowerPoint Copilot to generate slides
o Use Outlook Copilot to send the update summary
